Frameless Channel-Fixed Perimeter Fence
The channel-fixed system runs a continuous structural base channel around the pool perimeter. Glass panels slot into the channel with no vertical posts between them. The result is an unbroken run of glass giving full visibility across the pool from any direction.
Glass specification: 12mm to 15mm toughened safety glass as standard. Where panels are tall or span a wider post gap, 17.5mm toughened laminated glass is specified. All glass meets BS EN 12150 and is CE marked.
Spigot-Mounted Frameless System
Spigot clamps are fixed into the paving at regular intervals, each receiving a single glass panel. This system offers more flexibility around irregular pool shapes, curved perimeters, and features such as raised shallow areas or spa sections.
Spigot systems also work well where the pool area uses composite decking rather than stone or concrete. Fixings are bolted through the deck frame to solid substrate below.
Safety Gates
Building Regulations and pool safety guidance both require self-closing, self-latching access gates in pool enclosures. The latch mechanism must be inaccessible to young children. We design gate positions into the perimeter layout from the start, not as an afterthought.
We install matching frameless glass gates with stainless steel or powder-coated fittings. Gates open outward from the pool and self-close via a heavy-duty hydraulic hinge.
Hardware Specification for Pool Environments
Pool environments place specific demands on hardware. We use grade 316 marine stainless steel as our default for all pool-side hardware, including spigots, channel fixings, gate hinges, and latches. This grade contains molybdenum and resists chloride attack far better than standard 304 stainless.
Even for inland Sevenoaks properties without coastal salt-air exposure, chlorine from pool water is sufficient reason to specify 316 stainless on pool-contact hardware.
